WASHINGTON (August 23, 2012) — The Textile Rental Services Association, or TRSA, an Alexandria, Virginia-based international organization representing companies that supply laundered garments, uniforms, and linens, recently contracted Voluminant to develop an OSHA-related training program, Voluminant today announced.

The program is focused on providing training to commercial laundry facilities — that operate large-scale textile laundering machines, laundry sorters, dryers, and flatwork ironers — to prepare for and successfully complete OSHA safety inspections performed by a federal compliance inspector. The program includes the production of a 22-minute DVD video that covers areas such as OSHA inspection Basics, how to prepare for an OSHA inspection, how to handle on-site interviews with an inspector, and the steps to a successful OSHA inspection, and the five critical inspection points in a commercial laundry operation.

“This is a natural extension of the work that Voluminant does in the business performance improvement world,” said Christopher D. Stammer, president and CEO of Voluminant. “Companies lose hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in penalties, fines and in disability compensation as a result of not following safe work practices. TRSA should be lauded for their effort helping their member organizations adopt and implement safety-related policies and procedures. I’m glad Voluminant can help TRSA in this area.”

Voluminant has a depth of experience developing safety-related, cost-savings programs in the restaurant and hospitality, food processing, distribution, construction and commercial laundry industries, including with clients like U.S. Foodservice, the second largest food distributor in the United States. The Voluminant team has also developed lock out-tag out, safe driving, and handling soiled linen training programs for TRSA in both English and Spanish-speaking versions.
